    Notes:

    John Bulmer died after being kicked by a horse on the Bulmer homestead. H is middle name, Cartman, was in memory of a neighboring Cartman family w ho were quite prominent in the area and may have been friends of the Bulme rs from back in England. Robert Cartman (1820-1883) is buried in the Ross Cemetery and his gravesto ne states that he is a native of Yorkshire. The 1861 census shows two Car tman families in Ross Township, those of Robert and John. I found the marriage of John Cartman to Hannah Coffer on 4 November 18 59 in Ross Township and it gave his parents as John Cartman and Elizabe th Bulmer. She is likely the sister of Edward Bulmer Sr. I have not fou nd a record of John and Elizabeth in Canada.     Margaret attended Ottawa Normal School in 1922/3. She taught in a scho ol near Galetta just East of Arnprior and in Ross Township. In 1927 she w ent to Saskatchewan with her cousin, Jessie Bulmer (Mrs Garnet Bromle y) to teach at Loch Arbour school near a town called Bounty south of Saska toon.
