Old est son Alexander left and settled near Bancroft (Mount Eagle). David a nd Donald had land joining their fathers. James worked with his fathe r. In Aug 1881 William died at 88 and in Sep an epidemic of diptheria bro ke out taking 3 of James Children with in 24 hours: Christiann 14, Dav id 12, Ellen 6 (Tweedsmuir History Lake Dore WI)
David & Alex Sutherland- as young men they went to Wilberforce Tqp near Lake Dore and purchased land from Joseph Warren and farmed for a few years. After selling the land to their brother James, David relocated to Micksburg and Alex moved to Hybla, Hastings Co.
