  Married: Black Joe married Annie March 13th 1907 according to the marriage certificate Annie is said to be 22 years old however in hinesight she is only 13. It is believed that she and Black Joe conceived a son named Edward born on Sept 1908. Shortly after their son was born Annie left Black Joe and moved in with his 1st cousin also named Joseph McLauglin son of Samuel McLaughlin and Mary Jane Seales. They supposedly got married but no evidence is found. They conceived 6 daughters Thelma, Ada, Sadie, Janie , Anita and Christena "Enie " for short.
