!Tanner families: Well let me give you what I have - my grandfather was WILLIAM EDWIN TANNE R, a 1st class Petty Officer in Royal Navy/Royal Naval Air Services duri ng World War 1. William Edwin Tanner who married Ada Mary Stockholm. He was born in Bedminster, Bristol, England. I am still working out his ac tual birthdate etc. It appears his father may have been REES TANNER born cir ca 1861 whose wife was MARY A. (no maiden name yet). They lived in Bedminster as w ell and had children named WILLIAM EDWIN, DANIEL and ADA circa 1881 -1891. I have more on WILLIAM EDWIN'S children and spouse if you think it's helpf ul. William Tanner son of Joseph Tanner and Elizabeth Jones of Marshfield, Glo bapt 1814 he married Sarah Underhill in 1840, in Bath and had the followin g children between 1841 and 1856: William, George, Stephen, Ellen, Emily, Albert, Alice, and James. It is possible that your Maria was a child of a brother of my William b ut I have not yet located his brothers and sisters. Joseph and Elizabeth were based in Bath by 1841 census along with a daughter Mary who was 25 and unmarried in the 1841 census.
