      Ben was born Kilmichael Farm, Hollyfort Parish, Wexford Co., Ireland near Gorey. They 3 sons and 8 dau most born in IReland. They emigrated in 1852 with Ben's brothers John & Henry & families
      They left New Ross Harbour in 1852 and landed at Montreal. John went by ship to Hamilton to settle. His brothers contined by stagecoach and boat to their future homes. Henry stayed a short time in a cabin on the Elliott farm east of Pembroke's Hwy 17 near Meath. He then moved on to the Second Line of Stafford before settling on the Third Line of Stafford, now Laurentian Valley, near what is now the Bromley border on the farm owned by gt grandson Barclay Buttle
      Benjamen settled in Stafford twp on Second Line at the home of Mervin Taylor in 1970. Living less than a mile apart, the two Buttle families grew up together.
