• Notes

  In 1938, Elmer Dobson bought Malcolm B. Morrison's plumbing and tinsmithing business. In 1940, Elmer purchased 46 Main St. (beside the Whitewater Region Township office) from the Tuffy Estate where he built the present building. Elmer's wife Clara also opened a shoe store in the newly constructed building. Elmer & Clara's son Gerald "Gerry" Dobson joined his dad in the business upon his return from serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force in WWII.
