231 Cobden Sun "Seventy Five Years Ago" column in apr 7 2004 paper April 11, 1929 paper Word was received by Richard du Manior of Westmeath, from Bayeaux, Fran ce that his father, Raymond Thilant Le Chanoine, Count du Manoir De Juay e, had died in Paris at the age of 77, on Mar 15, and in the same ma il it is reported he also received the official news that he was rightf ul heir to the title of Count. The family name can be traced back to anci ent times, there being ancestors who joined the First Crusade under Godfr ey De Bouillon. The title and segneurie Le Manoir was created under the r eign of Louis XIII. No plans for the future have been made by Count du Ma noir as he first wished to be in touch with his brother, who is residi ng on Madagascar Island. The present Count du Manoir came to Canada in 19 05, married in Westmeath in 1907, Miss Margaret Deschamps, and is fath er of two daughters and five sons. He is forty-six years of age. DU MANOIR, Richard Jules (I6960211)

He left Renfrew 14 years ago and going to Chatham established a tobacco farm which he conducted with much success. His illness, which was a very short one, was due to heart failure. In Renfrew Dr. McKillop will be recalled by many as a jovial citizen, o ne fond of good horses and usually keeping two or three, and one who was high in Masonry, a member of the Mystic Shrine. Deceased was born in the township of Bristol, only son of the late M r. & Mrs. John McKillop, and grew up in that section of Pontiac county. H is marriage to Miss Lizzie Reynolds took place at Foresters Falls. For seven years after marriage he and Mrs. McKillop lived in Bristol, then became residents of Foresters Falls and a little later came to Renfrew, where a home was built and a business establishment erected. After a funeral service in Dr. McKillop's Chatham home the remains were conveyed to Shawville on Thursday and from there burial took place in Norway Bay cemetery where many of his kith and kin are interred. Service in t he cemetery was conducted by Rev. Mr. McMillan of Bristol, There was a large attendance of old friends, and the floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Mrs. McKillop and Dr. & Mrs. Mick were present from Renfrew, M r. John Reynolds from Foresters Falls, Mrs. Brown from Toronto and Mrs. Hyslop from Smiths Falls, sisters. Deceased had seven sisters of whom the re survive Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Hyslop of Smiths Falls, Mrs. (Dr.) Hugh Brown of Toronto, and Mrs. Hughes in the Canadian West.
